Three friends – Arlene (Ferlito), Shanna Ladd) and Jungle Julia Lucai (Poitier) – spend a night in Austin, Texas celebrating Jungle Julia's birthday, but are followed by Mike (Russell) who drives a souped-up 1970 Chevy Nova with a skull logo. Mike (Kurt Russell), a stuntman, claims his car is death proof, though this means for him, not any hapless passenger foolhardy enough to accept a ride. Fourteen months later, Stuntman Mike stalks another group of young women - Lee (Winstead), Abernathy (Dawson), Kim (Thoms), and Zoë (Bell), a group of women from Hollywood. This time, Stuntman Mike may have picked the wrong target.
Originally released as part of the Grindhouse double bill in America where the other film, Planet Terror was directed by Robert Rodruigez and also featuring fake trailers and adverts this film has been split into a single feature for it's UK release.
