THE MUSCLE HAS ARRIVED

It's been a very busy year for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep and the pace won't be slowing in 2007. Not only have dealers had to add the additional name of Dodge to their signage with the arrival of the muscular Caliber (see our review), but they have had a number of other arrivals to impress visitors with. Chrysler's 300C Touring (available with a 5.7-litre HEMI petrol engine and a Mercedes-Benz 3.0-litre CRD diesel) is a wonderfully big estate which feels 'big' when you drive it as well. No worrying about leg room in this. It looks great in and out and has a vast amount of load space. Alongside the PT Cruiser, the Crossfire and the Grand voyager, which was the first to feature Stow'N'Go seating, you can see a strong line up.

Jeep have four models, all going strong and all guaranteed to annoy Ken Livingstone.
The future has two intruiging models with the fastest truck around. Americans
love their pick-ups and the 5.8-metre long Dodge Ram 1500
SRT-10 which is a double cab five seater version is enormous and packs a massive
engine (8.3-litre
V-10) inside. There are 500 horses under the bonnet and it can do over 150mph.
This is definitely one that you will want to have sitting on the driveway just
to
impress the passer by's, that is if you've got £44,653 to spare, and
you'll have to be quick with only around a dozen planning to be imported.

Dodge also have a supercar in the stable with the SRT - 10 which is a two seater
capable of 190mph. Again an 8.3 litre 500 hp, V-10 it has the traditional dodge
muscle and we have had the chance to drive one, though being a left hand version
and in the rain we were pretty careful, but it throbs away and looks the part.
With a front mounted engine and massive tyres those who love their driving
hard should be drooling. Expect to part with around £69,990 to get a
big thrill.
