Commenting on the strike by some parking attendants in London next week:
Cllr. Ann John Chair of the Employers> ' Side of the Greater London Provincial Council said:
"Londoners should observe parking regulations as usual next week. The strike will affect nine London boroughs. These areas will have contingency plans in place and will be operating a partial parking enforcement services."

"Two weeks ago, London workers got a pay rise of between 7.7 and 11 per cent as part of the national pay deal. London councils will struggle to pay for this rise for council employees and simply can't afford any more.

* This will effect the following local authorities: Croydon, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Merton and Tower Hamlets.
