AUDI WIN FOR 3RD CONSECUTIVE TIME AT LE MANS
Audi has scored a third consecutive win at the Le Mans 24 Hour race. In fact their cars finished 1-2-3. The winning Audi was driven by Frank Biela,Tom Kristensen and Emanuele Pirro. They drove the 3,180 mile distance at an average speed of 132mph and are the same crew that won in the previous two races, itself a record.
It was bad luck for British former Grand Prix driver Johnny Herbert who drove
for almost eleven hours in four seperate stints. His Audi finished third, but
four punctures at various junctures cost him too much time.
