Motor company Jensen Motors Limited yesterday petitioned the Court for an Administration Order. Jon Newell and Philip Long of PKF expect to be appointed as administrators of the business when the petition is heard on or before 16 July.
Jensen Motors Limited is located in Merseyside and employed approximately 35 people. In August 2001, using the Jensen brand name which the business had acquired, an all new British sports car, the SV-8, was launched.
Since spring 2002, new investors have been sought for the business due to shortages of working capital. No new investment could be raised in the time available and on 5 July the company was forced to make the entire workforce redundant.
Jon Newell, administrator and partner at PKF said: "Jensen is a leading
name in the British car industry. We have received enquiries from a number of
parties who may be interested in acquiring the business and hope for a speedy
outcome."
