KODA ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR ENTRY-LEVEL DIESEL SUPERB
The newest addition to the koda Superb range, the Classic 1.9 TDI PD 100bhp, is now available for ordering at koda retailers across the UK. Priced at £15,250, the Superb Classic TDI PD 100bhp, with its Pumpe Düse diesel technology, provides exceptional value in an outstanding, elegant car.
The 1.9 TDI 100 bhp Superb Classic is placed in the lowest diesel company car taxation band of 18 per cent. Combined with excellent levels of standard equipment, exceptional space and a great price, the newest koda Superb adds up to particular value for company car drivers.
Pumpe Düse diesel engines offer exceptional performance by using high-pressure
injector units, a turbocharger and variable turbine geometry. This pump injection
system injects fuel at extremely high pressures, for maximum efficiency and
power. The 100bhp TDI PD has excellent torque, with a maximum of 250 Nm at 1,750
rpm, and combined fuel economy of 50.4 mpg. It has low CO2 emissions of
151 g/km, excellent among diesel engines.
The Superb Classic TDI PD 100bhp includes the same comprehensive standard equipment that is already available on the petrol Superb Classic models. It includes climate control with additional vents to the rear seats; remote central locking; front and rear electric windows; electrically-adjustable and heated door mirrors; front and side airbags for driver and front passenger; and sound system with CD player.
Superb's outstanding passenger space is also standard on the Classic TDI PD
100bhp. The rear seat legroom in particular is exceptional among upper-medium
vehicles, translating into limousine-like rear seat comfort for even the tallest
passengers
The confirmation of pricing for the Classic TDI PD 100bhp completes the Superb range for the UK and signals that both of the Pumpe Düse diesel engines, the 100bhp and the 130bhp, are now available for ordering. There are six engine solutions for the range, three petrol and three diesel. The petrol engines include the entry level 2.0 MPI 115bhp; the 1.8T 20v Turbo which offers 150bhp; and the top of the range 2.8 V6 193bhp. The diesel engine line up boasts a 2.5 V6 TDI to compliment the two Pumpe Düse engines, which offers 155bhp and has CO2 emissions of 192 g/km with manual gearbox.
The original Superb, first introduced in 1934, was a luxurious, stylish car
owned by wealthy entrepreneurs and royalty alike. Like the first Superb, the
twenty-first century Superbs are a great combination of elegance, self-confidence
and advanced technology.
NOTE: Pumpe Düse or PD diesel engines are a unit injector system that can operate at injection pressures of up to 2,050 bars of approximately 30,000 psi, far more than common rail systems of 2.0 litres or less that operate at approx. 1,350 bars or 20,000 psi. Higher pressure means more efficient combustion, allowing fuel to be burned more cleanly in each cylinder. This provides performance that exceeds the Euro 3 exhaust emissions regulations. Pumpe Düse combines the injector and pump for each cylinder and is driven by the engine camshaft. This more precise adjustment of the fuel injection results in higher torque with little or no change in fuel consumption or CO2 emissions, and makes koda PD engines among the most fuel efficient available in passenger cars.
