PEUGEOT CONTINUES RALLY DOMINATION WITH THREE OUT OF FOUR IN CYPRUS

Peugeot continues its domination of the 2002 World Rally Championship finishing with three out of four of the top places in this weekend's fifth round of the FIA World Rally Championship in Cyprus.

In a dramatic final day which saw overnight leader Colin McRae roll his Ford Focus, the Peugeot team seized the advantage. Finland's Marcus Grönholm and co-driver Timo Rautiainen took first place in their Peugeot 206, with 2001 World Rally Champion Britain's Richard Burns in second and Harri Rovanperä in fourth.

Peugeot scored its fourth one-two formation finish in succession, bolstering its standing in both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championships with Grönholm on 31 points, 11 ahead of team-mate Gilles Panizzi in second place with 20 points, and Britain's Richard Burns in third place with 19.

Peugeot currently lead the Manufacturers' Championship with 68 points, 41 clear of closest rivals Ford in second with 27 points.

Round Six of the FIA World Rally Championship is Rally Argentina which takes place from 17-19 May 2002.
