CHRYSLER SPOT ON IN NEW PENALTY COMPETITION
Chrysler and Jeep® UK has announced its support for a national penalty shoot-out competition where the winners stand to walk away with a share in a prize fund of one million pounds.
The 2002 'Shoot for a Million' penalty challenge, in which tens of thousands of six-person teams will be competing, kicks off this summer shortly after 'World Cup Fever' has reached its peak.
And two stunning Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.0 Classics are up for grabs as special prizes. One will go to the most successful penalty taker in the final stages of the competition and the other to the goalkeeper who makes the most saves.
The competition, which culminates in a national final in Birmingham in December, was officially launched with the help of soccer stars Dave Beasant and John Aldridge. The pair famously faced each other in 1988 for what became one of the most memorable spot kicks when Beasant saved from Aldridge to decide the Wimbledon vs. Liverpool FA Cup Final.
Simon Elliott, managing director of Chrysler and Jeep in the UK said: "We believe the profile of football has dramatically improved and are therefore delighted to be involved with the 'Shoot for a Million' competition. It is great that everyone can have fun with a competitive edge and, even better, that they have the chance to win one of two fantastic PT Cruisers."
"Anyone can enter this fun competition," said Robin Hunter, managing director of Shoot for a Million. "You don't necessarily need outstanding skills or fitness but the total pot of a million pounds and the special prizes such as the Chrysler PT Cruisers have to be the ultimate incentives to put yourself on the spot."
Chrysler PT Cruiser prices start at £14,995 for the 2.0 Classic and rise
to £18,895 for the 2.2 CRD Limited. Standard equipment for all models
includes driver and front passenger airbags plus side airbags, power steering,
air conditioning, six-speaker radio/cassette/CD player with RDS, electric front
and rear windows, plus electric heated and retractable door mirrors.
As with all Chrysler models, the PT Cruiser comes with a full peace-of-mind warranty package which provides three years/60,000-mile cover plus seven years/unlimited mileage anti-corrosion warranty and three years roadside emergency cover.
