DVLA 52 SERIES: A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR MOTOR ENTHUSIASTS
DVLA is to offer the public the unique opportunity to secure the best registration numbers from virtually every potential number in the new 52 series (subject to availability). Prices start from £399 (including VAT and assignment fee), but this is from 1 May and for one month only. After May, DVLA will continue to offer for sale over one million attractive 52 registrations ahead of its on the road date of 1 September.
The new 52 series alludes to an historic year in British life and a golden age when Queen Elizabeth II was to begin her long reign, driver's licences came in a little red book and number plates had no age signifier. But despite the changes in the last 50 years car enthusiasts have remained as fanatical as ever and many will want to add a finishing touch to their pride and joy with a new style number plate.
"Motorists' enthusiasm for their vehicles has certainly not diminished since the fifties but the difference now is they can add a personalised plate. A 52 personalised number could make a great gift for a 50th birthday present and we're confident it will be a success," said Louise Pierpoint, Publicity Manager for DVLA Sale of Marks.
The new style registrations have proved very popular since their launch last
May with motorists able to take advantage of the wealth of variety the new style
registrations offer. To date, sales have surpassed £14 million.
There are more than 9 million prefix and new style registrations available now
direct from DVLA with prices from as little as £250. To check availability
and price of all DVLA's select registrations log onto the official DVLA website,
www.dvla-som.co.uk. All registrations are available through the DVLA's official
telesales hotline, 0870 6000 142, which is open Monday to Friday from 9am to
5pm, except on Bank Holidays. From May onwards DVLA's hotline number will be
open on Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm.
Some particularly attractive new style marks may be sold at future DVLA Classic Collection auctions.
